Today, November 1, is National Author's Day...Celebrate

How do you celebrate National Author's Day? It seems the reasonable thing to do would be to buy a book (or at least check one out of the library). And read it. It's why we write books, so people will read them. Support your local author and help keep us writing.

News: Book's Cover Model Becomes Family Member

I am pleased to share the news that my lovely cover model for The Amish vs. the Zombies (she's portraying the Amish protagonist Hannah Strovel, not the zombie), who's real name is Anna, married my nephew, Benjamin Murray.

A bit ironic, because, two years ago (at the age of 17), when she posed for the photos (and filmed the book's trailer) we had no idea she would become family. Pretty cool!

In the book Hannah is reluctant to marry and goes on an adventure to discover who she is only to bring trouble to her community.

The real wedding was wonderful and almost was 'Amish' as it was held at a farm in rural Clark County. The reception was in an indoor horse arena. The happy couple, Anna and Ben, are shown at the right.

Hear the author read from the book at the Cannon Beach Library's Zombie Fest, Halloween between 1 and 3 p.m.

ZOMBIE INVASION Makeup Demo and Reading at FVRL

I'll be appearing at the Battle Ground Community Library, 1207 SE 8th Way Battle Ground, Wash, Tuesday, July 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. I will have my books available for purchase.

In addition to my reading from VOODOO VIRUS and giving a zombie makeup demo there will be arts and crafts, books and readings, games and play. MARSH MONSTER will also be available and I'll be signing and selling both books.

Join me for games, snacks, and cool door prizes! Remember this is a BYOB event - "Bring Your Own Brains!" Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.
